Tuesday, Aug. 19
9:30 a.m
Golf tournament registration at the Country club of Golden Nugget. Registration is just making sure all the times are ready and players who ordered lunch picking it up. The shotgun start is 11 a.m.
10 a.m.
Landowner Meeting starts in the Memorial Room. This is a program of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry that landowners should have already registered for through the LDAF (LDAF). If you haven't registered, you can until Tuesday, Aug. 5 by calling 225-925-8006. The topic is on "Hurricane Impacted Forestry."
10:30 a.m.
3 p.m.
Exhibitor setup begins.
• Certified Prescribe Burner Renewal Training. This is another event provided by the LDAF that provides training for those who have previously earned certification for prescribed burning but need to renew that certification.
• Also beginning at 3 p.m., registration for the 78th Annual Convention opens at the registration desk on the Second Floor Foyer. Be sure that you pick up your registration and wear your name badge. It is required to participate at any of the events during the convention.
• Silent Auction opens in the Willowick Room.
5:30 p.m.
President's Reception begins on the Second Floor Foyer where exhibitors are set up.
Wednesday, Aug. 20
7 a.m.
Louisiana Land Bank Continental Breakfast begins in the exhibit area.
7:30 a.m.
Association of Consulting Foresters meeting begins in the Memorial Rooms 1 and 2.
7:30 a.m.
Registration Desk opens.
8:45 a.m.
General Session: Brooks Mendell gives presentation on "Forests, Fiber and Finance: Investment and Management Trends Related to Timberlands, Mills and Trade"; Corey Shircliff gives presentation on "The Science of Carbon Sequestration"; and Dr. Paul Schubert gives presentation on "How Carbon Storage Can Help the Forestry Industry" to be held in Grand Ballroom 1 and 2.
11 a.m.
First South Farm Credit Bloody Mary Social and Louisiana Logging Council Shotgun Raffle to be held in the exhibit area.
11:30 p.m.
Forestry Career Corner to be held in the alcove near the Registration Desk. Louisiana Forestry Foundation scholarship recipients meeting with company representatives to learn what opportunities might be available for internships or post graduation.
Noon
Tree Farm Luncheon in Grand Ballroom 4 where the Tree Farmer of the Year will be honored. This will followed by an intermission at 2 p.m.
2:30 p.m.
Louisiana Logging Council Session to be held in Grand Ballroom 1 and 2 (where general session was held), sponsored by Lott Oil, McGriff Insurance, Sabine State Bank, Southern Logger Cooperative and W.D. Chips. Speakers include Master Logger and state Rep. Jack McFarland, American Loggers Council Executive Director Scott Dane and Vestige Senior Solutions Partner Derek Breedlove.
4 p.m
Louisiana Forestry Association Board of Directors meeting to be held in Ballrooms 1 and 2 (where general session and LLC Session were held).
6 p.m.
Friends of Forestry Social to be held in the exhibit area.
6:15 p.m.
Silent Auction closes in Willowick Room
7 p.m.
Logger Appreciation Night dinner to be held in Grand Ballroom 4.
Thursday, Aug. 21
8 a.m.
Closing Breakfast to be held in Grand Ballroom 4. Includes Video Highlights, a presentation by Louisiana economist Loren Scott and the Exhibitor Extravaganza! where door prizes will be won by those who are present.
