About the event
The LSU AgCenter will present an Agricultural Prescribed Burn Manager Certification Class from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Yambilee Building in St. Landry Parish. Date for the classd is tentative based on enough interest. The class will address all essential elements of preparing for an dimplementing an agricultural prescribed burn plan using recommended prescribed burning practices. Completion of this class is required for Prescribed Burn Manager Certificatrion by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry (LDAF). The class is cosponsored by the LSU AgCenter Extension offices of St. Landry & Evangeline parishes. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. This class is for those wanting to be certified. Ag producers who have attended previous burn class and were certified are required to re-certify every five years to maintain Burn Manager Certification and can recertify by attending the class.
