Arbor Day Tree Giveaway at the LFA Jan. 16

Ready to get a free tree? Come to the Louisiana Forestry Associaiton's office at 2316 S. MacArthur Drive in Alexandria beginning at 7:30 a.m. and get some trees!

The annual event celebrates Arbor Day in Louisiana on the third Friday of January, which is Jan. 16, this Friday. The Tree Giveaway will have seedlings of Bald Cypress, Shumard Oak and Persimmon, provided by ArborGen. Also available will be some saplings of Pond Cypress, River Birch and Sawtooth Oak, provided by our friends at Louisiana Forest Seed in LeCompte.

The trees are free and each person can get a few, but think about the space you have available for which tree you'd like to get. Instructions for planting and care are included with each tree.
