Timber workshop set Oct. 11 in Bossier City
Timber expert Ricky Kilpatrick will present 10 Timely Tips to help timber producers navigate the timber market and avoid potential problems on Oct. 11.
Sponsored by the NRCS and Trailblazer RC&D, the workshop is open to the public for anyone interested in timber production. The presentation will be held at the Bossier Parish Libraries History Center, 2206 Beckett St. in Bossier City.
“Over the years of working with forest landowners in the region, there are some items that seem to ‘pop up’ time and time again,” said Kilpatrick, who was a Forestry Extension Agent for the LSU AgCenter Extension Service for 30 more than years. “Some are commonly encountered problems, some are unfavorable situations that could have been avoided with better planning, many are simply due to the economy and current market situations, and some are just ideas that might be helpful.”
On-site registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11. The presentation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is encouraged so that adequate refreshments can be provided immediately before the event. To pre-register, or to find out more about the presentation, call or text 318-237-8350 and leave your name and contact information plus the name and date of the event.
