Educators, parents and community leaders can participate in the Project Learning Tree, Tree Campus Workshop July 20-23 at the Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, Louisiana.
And it's free!
Project Learning Tree, the award-winning environmental education program, uses trees and forests as windows to the world and is STEM aligned curriculum for all ages as it teaches participants to work with youth from preschool to high school.
The workshop teaches more about STEM certified educaiton program and its alignment with Louisiana education standards. Participants will have hands-on activities, receive tools for learning and gain resources for teaching kids how to think.
The program is free for its participants thanks to a generous grant from Baton Rouge Green, which was formed in 1987 during tremendous urban sprawl from an economic boom in the 1980s. The group was concerned about losing the tree canopy in Baton Rouge and developed programs to raise awareness and educate residents about the importance of trees in urban environments.
Project learning tree helps by teaching people who educate children of all ages about the benefits of trees and forests so that future Louisiana residents will learn about the importance of the natural renewable resource.
